Kenny DeShields

What comes from the heart, reaches the heart and thus does the music of Kenny. He is not "just another" hip thing, but an artist in its truest form, using his God-given creative ability to pen some of the purest expressions of love, soul, and passion for life, while skillfully intertwining them in the melodies of song.

Not a novice to the arena of music, Kenny began to play the piano at the age of 11, and has also found success in singing as a solo artist as well as performing with other notable groups in both recorded and live music. His singing has evolved from a mere demonstration of talent, to his becoming an instrument of praise and worship. This is the underlying theme of his lyrics and the ultimate motivation for his life. Through maturity, life experience, and an ever-increasing love for God, Kenny places in song the thoughts and events of his personal voyage in discovering the essence of who he is in God. Collectively, each piece of his story can be captured in the MOSAIC of his music - a portrait of inspiration, reconciliation, diversification, self-revelation, and the multi-faceted dimensions of the one known as Kenny.

Kenny recently released his freshman EP entitled MOSAIC - Prelude in Me Sharp Minor, featuring four selections from the highly anticipated LP “MOSAIC”, slated for a Fall 2009 release. He is currently promoting the EP as a featured artist on THE CAFÉ TOUR at several independently owned coffee houses and cafes, taking the Gospel of Jesus Christ beyond the church’s four walls and directly to diverse audiences of all kinds.

Kenny has had the privilege of sharing the stage with music greats such as Grammy nominated and BET J Virtual Award Winner - Eric Roberson, Christopher Lewis, Leon Timbo, and Cross Movement Recording Artist - J.R.

Kenny is a member of Hope Church in St. Louis, MO under the leadership of Pastors Greg and Kim Bruce, where he serves on the Worship Team and S.T.A.N.D. Young Adult and College Ministry.
